Did you know that 1 in 6 people worldwide live with a disability?

Despite advancements in technology and inclusion, millions still face daily barriers—navigating websites without screen reader compatibility, using apps that don’t account for motor impairments, or being left out of digital spaces entirely due to poor design choices. Accessibility issues aren’t just inconveniences—they’re barriers to participation, opportunity, and independence.

At our upcoming Accessibility Hackathon, we believe this needs to change.

Accessibility Isn’t Optional—It’s Essential

Accessibility is often treated as a bonus feature. But for people living with disabilities, it’s a requirement—not a nice-to-have. Whether it’s captions for the hearing impaired, keyboard navigation for those with motor limitations, or high-contrast designs for the visually impaired, inclusive design enables equal access for everyone.

Our Mission: Empower, Not Exclude

This hackathon is our way of turning awareness into action. We’re bringing together developers, designers, advocates, and thinkers to co-create solutions that empower users of all abilities. It’s not just about compliance—it’s about innovation that considers everyone from the start.

We want to shift the mindset from “accessibility as a constraint” to “accessibility as a catalyst.” Because when we design with inclusion in mind, we build better products—for everyone.
